This week's webinar will feature a program centered around recapping the League of Women Voters of the United States (LWVUS)'s 2022 National Convention.
LWVUS's convention is a biennial event that serves as LWVUS's bylaws-prescribed business meeting as well as an opportunity for League members to gather for training. Our Florida League welcomed more than 50 delegates (in-person and virtually) to vote on key League program items.
Convention delegates are the members of the LWVUS board and representatives from state and local Leagues. Each local and state League is allotted delegates based on their League type and size.
Throughout three days of plenary, delegates elected the 2022-2023 LWV Board of Directors which includes the LWV of Miami-Dade's own Monica Skoko Rodríguez. Dr. Deborah Ann Turner was once again elected as LWVUS board president, a role she has held since 2020. Delegates also voted on several motions, including the LWVUS budget and various bylaws amendment proposals.
