We're excited to announce the next edition of our "Lunch & Learn" series! This week's webinar will feature a program centered around the movement across our nation to declare racism as a public heath crisis.
This movement, led by public health and racial justice advocates, has primarily been centered around working to have cities and counties pass resolutions declaring racism as a public health crisis and then providing solutions to aid in rectifying the crisis at the local level.
While resolutions and formal statements themselves are not necessarily legally enforceable, they are an important first step in calling attention to racism and shifting the narrative in a way that can drive changes to policies, laws and resource allocation.
Join us on Friday, July 29 at 1:00 p.m. (ET) as we learn more from Dr. Linsey Grove on how to advocate for these resolutions locally and how these resolutions create the opportunity for strategic action to eliminate racist policies and practices and adopt those that advance racial equity.
